Who we are

Our starting point is straightforward: every Tasmanian deserves a bright future. The government should answer to the people it serves, and rights come with responsibilities.

We believe the government has important duties. It should keep communities safe, deliver essential services well, protect Tasmania’s strategic interests, manage public money responsibly and ensure the next generation inherits a stronger state. But the government should also know its limits. Law-abiding Tasmanians should be free to raise their families, run businesses, own property, express lawful views and participate in their communities without unnecessary interference.

Responsibility must apply at every level. Individuals must be accountable for their choices. Parents have responsibilities to their children. Businesses should contribute fairly to the communities and economy that support them. Public institutions must make sensible and transparent decisions. Governments must be held accountable for how they spend your money and the results they deliver.

We also believe Tasmania needs a stronger productive economy. That means creating genuine pathways into skilled work, backing farmers and regional industries, supporting businesses that invest and employ locally, keeping home ownership within reach, and ensuring Tasmania’s energy, land, water and natural advantages work for the long-term benefit of Tasmanians.

We believe in a balanced approach. Government must be strong where it matters, restrained where it does not, and always accountable for its performance.

These principles shape our policies on community safety, education, health, housing, jobs and skills, energy, farming, forestry, firearms, economic management and democratic reform.

Tasmania is unique. We have our own communities, industries, economy and challenges. Our policies are being developed around those realities, applying One Nation’s broader principles to what works for Tasmania and the people who live here.
